The time on your computer is:

  1. How long will this watch or clock repair take?
Usually two weeks. When the estimate is made, I will try to identify any circumstance (such as ordering parts) which might extend the normal turn around time.
  2. What parts of my Grandfather clock will you need to take?
I will only need the movement, dial, weights, and pendulum.
  3. Do you also make house calls for small clocks?
Generally, no. However under special circumstances I will make a pickup and delivery of a small clock but there is an extra $50.00 fee for this service.
  4. How long is the warranty?
    One year.
  5. How well will my grandfather clock keep time after it is repaired?
Usually weight driven grandfather clocks will keep time to plus or minus 30 seconds a day.
  6. How often should my grandfather clock have comprehensive service?
I recommend that this be performed about every five years.
  7. How far will you travel to service a grandfather clock?
I try to limit the travel distance to 35 miles from my shop. As a rule this will amount to about three hours of driving time to perform a comprehensive service. (see the map on the navigation menu).
  8. Why does the spring on the right side of my Westminster chime clock wind so hard?
Many Westminster chime clocks require a stronger spring to run the quarter hour chimes properly. The same is true of many grandfather clocks which require a heavier weight on the right hand side of the clock.
